This guide shows how to add your HTN Cloud email to Microsoft Outlook on Windows or Mac. Menu names can differ a little between Outlook versions, but the settings are always the same.
Before you start
Have these ready: your full email address, its password and your server name from cPanel → Email Accounts → Connect Devices. See Email settings for mail apps (IMAP, POP3 and SMTP).
Add the account
- Open Outlook and go to File → Add Account. In the new Outlook, go to Settings → Accounts → Add account.
- Enter your email address.
- Choose Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually, then click Connect.
- Choose IMAP.
- Enter the server settings:
- Incoming mail: server
yourdomain.com(as shown in Connect Devices), port993, encryption SSL/TLS - Outgoing mail: server
yourdomain.com, port465, encryption SSL/TLS
- Incoming mail: server
- Click Next, enter your email password, then click Connect.
Outlook downloads your folders and messages. Send yourself a test email to check that sending works too.
If it doesn't connect
- Check that the username is the full email address.
- Make sure your outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, using the same settings as incoming.
- If you see a certificate warning, use the exact server name shown in Connect Devices and check that your domain points to HTN Cloud.
- Test the password in webmail first. If webmail doesn't accept it, reset it. See How to change an email password or mailbox size.
