Getting started with your HTN Cloud hosting account Print

  • 0

Welcome to HTN Cloud! This guide walks you through the first things to do with your new hosting account, from logging in to getting your website and email up and running.

What you need

  • Your welcome email. It has your cPanel username, the server details and your account's IP address.
  • Access to the place where you bought your domain name, so you can update its DNS records.

Your first steps

  1. Log in to cPanel. The easiest way is from your HTN Cloud client area. See How to log in to cPanel.
  2. Point your domain to us. Add a few DNS records at your domain provider so your domain shows the website hosted with us. See How to point your domain to HTN Cloud.
  3. Create your email addresses. Set up mailboxes such as info@yourdomain.com. See How to create an email account.
  4. Build or upload your website. Install WordPress in a few clicks, design a site with SitePad, or upload your own files. See How to put your first website online.
  5. Check that HTTPS works. A free SSL certificate is issued automatically once your domain points to us. See Free SSL certificates: how AutoSSL works.
Tip: DNS changes can take a few hours to reach everyone. While you wait, you can already create email accounts and install WordPress in cPanel.

Good to know

  • Your account runs on cPanel with the LiteSpeed web server and SSD storage.
  • Your files, databases and email are backed up twice a week. See About your backups.
  • If you get stuck, open a support ticket from the client area. We're happy to help. See How to contact support.
