Accidentally deleted important emails, or a whole mailbox? You can restore email accounts and their messages from a backup.
Restore an email account
- In cPanel, open Files → JetBackup 5.
- Click Email Accounts under Restore & Download.
- Find the email address and the date you want to go back to.
- To restore only certain folders, use the file selection option for that backup, for example only
INBOXorSent. - Select the backup and click Restore, then confirm.
- Follow the progress under Queue.
After restoring
- Open webmail to check the restored messages. See How to access webmail.
- If your mail app uses IMAP, it syncs the restored messages automatically.
- If your mail app uses POP3, it may download the restored messages again as new.
Deleted a whole email account? Create the account again in Email → Email Accounts with the same address first, then restore its messages from the backup.
