It's useful to keep an eye on how much space your website and email use, especially before you upload large files or run a big import.
Quick overview on the cPanel home page
On the right side of the cPanel home page, scroll down to Statistics. You'll see your disk usage, bandwidth and the number of email accounts, databases, domains and FTP accounts in use.
See what is using your space
- In cPanel, open Files → Disk Usage.
- The page lists your folders by size, including
public_html(your website),mail(your email) and databases. - Click a folder to see which subfolders take the most space.
For email only, open Email → Email Disk Usage to see and clean up large mailboxes.
Resource usage (CPU and memory)
Open Metrics → Resource Usage. If your site reached its resource limits in the past 24 hours, you'll see it here with details. The message "Your site had no issues in the past 24 hours" means everything is fine.
Tips to free up space
- Delete old backup files (
.zip,.tar.gz) you've uploaded to your account. - Empty large mail folders such as Trash and Spam, or delete old messages with big attachments.
- Remove WordPress plugins, themes and test installations you no longer use.
- Empty the File Manager trash (View Trash → Empty Trash).
